Barbell bench techniques & How to use wrist wraps

Hey guys, this is quick video showing some of my barbell bench techniques and how to use wrist wraps. I got a new video camera the next videos should be better than these previous videos! Also I just got YouTube partnership last week! Thanks everyone! I've only been on here for a few months so that's pretty cool. I'll film all my workouts and show you guys what I can.

Key points:

– Gripping the bar wide will target your chest better.
– Keep your feet on the ground and legs wide apart for better stability.
– Go as low as you can with the bar; just don't bounce it on your chest.
– Breathe out as you push up
– Wrist wraps help support your wrist for heavy weights- keep them loose if you're not doing your set yet and tighten them up when you're ready to hit your set. Don't wait too long or it'll cut off your blood flow.
-wrist wraps I use are by INZER. I believe they are 20 inch wraps. You can buy them on ebay or I bought mine from (I actually went to their store here and they're pretty cool people)

    1. You DONT have to grip the bar “as wide as possible”. Shoulder width is
    recommended.
    2. Dont look at the bar when you lower it. Unless you’re doing shirted
    benching this isnt necessary.
    3. If you’re going for pure power, you want an arch in your back, while
    keeping your butt and shoulder blades on the bench at all times. Squeeze
    your shoulder blades and flex your quads (legs) throughout the whole press.
    You will still build the chest just as good if you tighten everything up.
    4. Always come down to your chest, without bouncing, and then all the way
    back up. Dont hyper extend the elbows at the top though. ´╗┐

      +Beau Hatcher Bring the bar as low as shoulder joint comfortable.
      Touching the chest with the bar on the eccentric is a lot of stress on the
      rotator cuffs. Not necessary to get a big chest.

      folded up shirt or hoodie on the chest.

    Sorry but I don’t think you should be giving advice with such poor form.
    Bar needs to touch chest and you were nowhere near lockout each rep either.
    You should use lighter weight that you can use a proper ROM with.´╗┐

    ain’t trying to knock your hustle, but you should touch the bar to your
    chest. a bunch of bodybuilders will say that stopping an inch above the
    chest is good for stretching the pecs, but stopping that high is hard on
    the elbows. it’s better for the pecs which are are big muscles to stop the
    bar instead of your elbows. arch your back. this will allow you to tuck
    your shoulders in which will protect them. using leg drive will also add
    pushing power for the concentric phase. you can still build a huge powerful
    chest from using a powerlifter style bench press. but still good bench
    pressing´╗┐

      Stan efferding lifts his head. it’s to keep your lower back flatter on the
