The Barbell Lunge is a key exercise for your legs as well as working your core. The added weight of a barbell means that your legs work harder to control the movements as you perform each repetition.

When I do these lunges, I keep on going up and down in the split legs
position instead of bringing both feet back together. I feel like this is
more taxing since I’m not coming back to the rest position and my legs
never lock out. Is this effective or am I doing it wrong and why?

      +stormblazt90 That’s called a split squat, not a lunge. They’re slightly
different, and so switching from one to the other is a good way to adjust a
      workout

    where you puke. :)

Every video showing an exercise, has a bunch of people in the coments
saying the guy in the video is doing it wrong. The only conclusion is that
anybody who makes such a video..whether because they are qualified or not,
is wrong, whereas people who come to Youtube looking for “how to” videos
about this stuff, know more. So…if you want to know how it’s done, ask
someone who came here looking to see how it’s done. Because true experts
always go to Youtube to learn stuff they already know

How does one bail on this exercise? Pull back leg forward into a squat and
    fall backwards?

    • Codithejedi / January 27, 2016

+TinMMA shoulnd’t be going heavy enough to need to bail on these imo. But
i’d try bailing the same way you would on a squat.

I underestimated lunges and now I’m only doing 10’s
