i find that a lot of people don’t have training partners, so for me…
training chest strength on a barbell press is not a good idea as you are
fucked if you go too heavy, wheras with dumbbell i have never had a problem
lifting for a 4 rep set, i can reach actual falure… on barbell if i’m
unsure whether or not i can make the next rep… i cannot take that risk,
unlike dumbbell where you just drop the weight

not only that, but the reason you can’t quite go as heavy is because there
is more work needed from the CNS to recruit the fibres to keep the weight
balanced as you press it up, so while the muscle may not quite be lifting
as heavy, it is actually working harder than it would equal weights on
barbell…. of course though… don’t abandon one over the other, still mix
it up. keep the muscles guessing.

+nick hayes everyone at the gym is chill just ask someone to spot you.

    • nick hayes / April 11, 2016

I agree haha. though my gym has 5 squat racks so it wouldn’t be a biggie.
usually only the squat rack with deadlift podium is in use. it’s usually
pretty quiet at lunch so there’s not many people about.

+Batman muscles can only get bigger or smaller. you cant change the shape

    • DOBBY THE SLUT / August 1, 2016

however bench press feels better lmao. At the end of the day both are going
to get you a bigger chest so who really cares

  6. FuckPunkers / January 17, 2016

    • Random Longman / February 3, 2016

you prolly flare your elbows? ive made good gainz strictly barbell as well

  7. eric liu / February 2, 2016

I feel much more stimulation from the barbell than from dumbbells on my
chest. Mostly because it’s easier to stabilize the barbell

  8. louis santiago / February 18, 2016

I definitely feel more pec involvement with dumbells without a doubt.

  9. Three points Veteran Scars / March 1, 2016

What about if youre in situation where your only options are: smith machine
    or dumbbells?

    • SL4VE0WNER1904619 / March 18, 2016

+Three points Veteran Scars then you should find a new gym lol.

moving on, back to the topic, hi??

  11. Kal Heisenberg / April 8, 2016

for best results I always alternate both. I train my chest twice a week,
Day 1: barbell bench press, dumbbell incline. Day 2: dumbbell bench/barbell

he looks like female body builder

  14. Muralha Maculele / May 21, 2016

Nice, this is what I’ve been doing before watching this. Last thing is that
it takes time and a lot of work. Your chest isn’t going to increase in size
in a day with some magic exercise or dumbbells vs barbell. Lift everything
from every angle as long as it maintains joint stability.

  15. Dumbbells Only / May 27, 2016

I do both but I focus on DB. It’s good to just include both however I can
honestly say when j made the trasnstistion from more sets on BB to more
sets on DB I saw more results on my chest. However what I do is hit flat
BB twice a week so I can still increase there to compensate for my focus on

  16. fuggedaboutit !!! / May 31, 2016

that’s why a lot of gym goers don’t get great pecs..they just worry too
much about potential accidents that might occur when lifting heavier
dumbells and therefore miss out on major gains

  17. WheresMyMango / June 12, 2016

    nice cleavage

  18. Les Mach / June 27, 2016

People say you can’t go by soreness, but when I do barbell bench press I
get super sore but not with dumbells. To me that means my chest is
stimulated more with barbell. May be wrong.
