+ScottHermanFitness I think I’ve been doing this workout wrong, because the
second time I tried to do it, I hurt my back, also the back side of my both
legs. So, is it important to do this move like in a sitting position while
leaning? I think I’ve done that wrong. Also, should the gap between legs be
as it is shown on the vid? Not more or less?

    • 777dko777 / January 26, 2014

Make sure your butt is low like you’re sitting in a chair to keep the
pressure off your back. Also make sure before you go to lift that your arms
are straight and don’t have slack in them, leaving any slack in your arms
will cause your upper body to jerk to a brief halt on your way up. This
will pull you out of proper form and put a lot of strain on your back.

    • incogenator / February 4, 2014

+777dko777 this is key on both points.

    • piyush jeena / March 23, 2014

i Guess you did it right way… because dead-lift do target your lower back
and hamstring ( i.e back of your legs).

  2. Elliot B / February 9, 2014

Dude you need to be telling rookies that they should have there hips higher
at the beginning of the lift, it is not a squat. Hips high, chest up, chin
down and drive with the hips. Also don’t let the bar drag over the top of
your knees on the way down.

    • Mark Richardson / September 24, 2015

yeah, i’m watching different videos on the deadlift. Some have you putting
your chest up and looking slightly up, while others show you having your
chin tucked and looking at a point on the ground. Which is actually correct
      because its important?

  3. DarkAndDandy / April 18, 2014

    why are you yelling?!

  4. fistrules1 / April 18, 2014

    very nice coach

  5. Davidwrightiousness / July 2, 2014

For crying out loud… put some clothes on. How can I justify watching a
half naked shaven boy doing a workout whilst laying in bed…. seriously I
think u like men looking at you. Are you jee aye why

I swear Im doing it just like him but i feel it in my lower back a million
times more than my legs?!?! My back tires out before i really feel anything
    in my legs. HELP

    • John Nguyen / September 26, 2014

From my experience, I learned that dead lifts primarily hits your lower
back but it hits your legs too.

    • Germ .Fish / February 24, 2015

      It’s supposed to, lol.

  8. Renzo Tuano / January 7, 2015

My lower back hurts a little after my first time deadlifting last night. Is
that how it is supposed to be? Is the lower back the main muscle being
targeted by deadlifts? Sorry but it is just my first time lifting.

    • Germ .Fish / February 24, 2015

It’s fine, it targets the lower back and hamstrings. If your back is sore
anywhere else then you have a problem.

    • Special 1 / February 25, 2015

It is very important to spot here, whether you feel the pain in the lower
back muscles (left and right of the spine), which would mean you are only
sore. Or whether you have actually pain in your spine, this MUST NOT

    • michael garavito / April 27, 2016

jusy make your your drive the hips forward

  9. b ramos / March 3, 2015

i work out alot but yo deadlifts to me is a scary workout cause i did it
one day at the gym and my whole back was killing me for 2 weeks

  10. ItsMeRev / March 19, 2015

  11. Jamal B / August 9, 2015

I workout everyday and this video helped refresh my knowledge- thanks

  12. Christian Briones / September 11, 2015

he talks too much, get to the damn point

    • Scott Mirise / May 21, 2016

+Christian Briones That’s how things are taught,, through words. Some times
it takes more than “Me lift” to explain things.

  13. Mark Richardson / September 24, 2015

How come some videos teach you to keep your chin tucked while others have
    you looking ahead/slightly up?

This is important. What exactly is correct?

  14. arpit mahendra / October 24, 2015

    very basis knowledge

  15. Epik Blue / January 30, 2016

you know, you have an amazing body and i appreciate your videos , i really
they have helped me so much

  16. A Taylor / April 28, 2016

Does this guy own a shirt?

  17. Scott Mirise / May 21, 2016

I appreciate this channel. Scott is no non-sense and gets to the point.
These loud obnoxious guys that say nothing annoy me.

  18. clapicusrein David / August 3, 2016
