    This is not the way Vince Gironda taught the drag curl. See his youtube
    video teaching it himself. You curl the BB up the front of your body until
    you almost reach your collar bone. You are doing a 1/2 drag curl.

    I started doing these a couple years ago when a different youtube vid
    showed them…they look weird but trust me they work great…you get a
    great pump….i do mine with the ez curl bar.

    Hey Vince, I don’t think you’re right about the full contraction / better
    contraction / shorter muscle thing. Remember that the biceps are attached
    at/near the FRONT of your shoulder joint. Therefore the biceps can’t get
    shorter with your upper arm rotated to the back (drag curl) then when your
    upper arm is vertical (standard curl). Looking at an anatomical picture
    will make this clear.
    It will however FEEL heavier at the top than a standard biceps curl because
    your forearm is near horizontal, which of course makes the force that
    gravity exerts on the muscle biggest. Simple (bio)mechanics. You may
    mistake that bigger load at the top with a shorter muscle.
