Maxing the weight on your Maximus100
Have you ever seen 100lb ankle weights?
I'm loading (2) 50lb dumbbells to max out the weight at 100lbs on my Maximus 100. This will give one serious workout for the gluteus maximus. Aside from strong glutes, you're going to need well developed Tensor Fasciae Latae muscles to balance this load. Working out both muscle sets is ideal since all workouts should include opposing muscles. The tensor fasciae latae, along with the gluteus medius, minimus and several other pelvic muscles, provides side to side stability and balance for the pelvis. You will feel the burn.

For athletes, the quadruped hip extension exercise should be coupled with squats. It has been proven that squats isolate the quadriceps but do not really reach the glutes as effectively as widely believed. The QHE hits the glutes better than any other exercise.
