Scooby Press for Big Arms

If you want really big arms, the triceps is much more important than the biceps because its a bigger muscle and it responds better to training for most people. The scooby press is a great triceps exercise you can do at home and despite the name, you dont need a bench to do it – you can do it right on the floor with either a straight bar or an ez-curl bar. You really need to watch your form carefully on this or you will end up working shoulders or chest insted of triceps so I cover proper form in detail in this video.     It’s where the bar comes down to. In the close grip bench press it comes
    down to the sternum. Here, it comes down to the neck. More triceps are
    worked that way.

    Could someone offer some insight on this for me? I was doing these
    yesterday with a set amount of weight, planning to do 3 sets. First set I
    just about did 12 reps (higher than I would have liked) and the next only
    6, and the last 4 (keeping proper form). Am I doing something wrong? Cheers.

    no, that’s just natural; try doing 3 sets of 8 repetitions instead even
    tough you won’t hit failure in the first set; rest a minute in between
    sets. The weight I use with a bar (45 lbs) only allows me 5 sets of 6; when
    I go high volume I use either a 20 lbs dumbell or 35 lbs in a bar and I
    manage 6 to 8 sets of 7-8 reps. This one is much tougher than tricep

    Do you have you have to go down to touch your neck? I can only get about 3
    inches from my throat and then below that I get pain in my elbow area. Is
    that okay to stop a few inches above your throat?
